Invisalign Services for Children & Teens in Anaheim
Straighten Teeth Without Braces
Invisalign is an innovative alternative to traditional metal
braces. This method has become extremely popular among kids, teens, and adults. At
StarshipM Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics, we offer Invisalign in Anaheim for patients who need
orthodontic treatment but prefer to avoid traditional metal braces. Once your child has grown
used to Invisalign, you’ll thank your lucky stars you make the right choice.
American Association of Orthodontists recommends all children to receive
their first orthodontic evaluation by age seven. If a child shows signs
of moderate or severe orthodontic problems and waiting is not recommended,
early interceptive treatment is recommended at a young age. Early consultation
helps identify urgent dental concerns that may worsen and be more difficult
to correct later (and sometimes become uncorrectable), if left untreated.
Between the ages of eleven and seventeen, all baby teeth should have already
fallen out. During adolescence, the jaw goes through rapid growth and
it is advantageous to start treatment as the patient’s jaw growth
can be utilized and even modified for improved results.
Benefits of Invisalign
For many patients, aesthetics is the biggest advantage of choosing Invisalign
over traditional braces. Invisalign clear aligners are nearly invisible
in appearance, which is often preferred by self-conscious teens who want
to avoid the look of metal braces. Although the nearly invisible appearance
of the aligners is a main reason for patients to choose Invisalign, there
are many other benefits of this treatment.
Compared to traditional braces, Invisalign offers advantages that include:
- Safe and effective for kids and teens
- More comfortable
- Easier to clean
- Enjoy your favorite foods
- Less noticeable
- Fewer office visits required
- Aligners can be removed for eating and brushing teeth
Invisalign can be used to correct a variety of orthodontic problems. We
use Invisalign in Anaheim to correct everything from simple issues to
more complex problems. This treatment is often an option for patients
with crooked teeth, open bite, crowded teeth, overbite, underbite, and
How the Treatment Works
The treatment begins with an evaluation and consultation. If it is determined
that Invisalign is an appropriate treatment for achieving your goals,
we can perform a scan of your teeth. This is used to create a custom treatment
plan for each patient. Based on the treatment plan, a custom set of aligners
is made just for you.
During the treatment process, you will:
- Wear the aligners for at least 20 hours per day
- Switch to the next set of aligners, as directed
- Notice your teeth shifting with each change in aligners
- Visit our office for periodic checkups to monitor progress
We will monitor your progress throughout the treatment to make sure that
everything is progressing according to plan. If needed, we can modify
the treatment plan to ensure optimal results. At the end of the series
of aligners, you will have your new and out-of-this-world smile. As with
braces and other orthodontic treatment, a retainer may be needed to help
your teeth stay in the new position.
Schedule an Evaluation
The best way to learn if Invisalign is an option is to schedule an appointment
for an evaluation. We will assess your child’s teeth to determine
what needs to be corrected and the most effective treatment options. We
can explain the condition that needs treatment and the treatment options
that are available, including Invisalign.
During your consultation, we will go over the treatment plan and the cost
of your treatment. If needed, financing options are available through
Care Credit with affordable monthly payments to help make your child’s
orthodontic treatment fit your family’s budget.
